Under the "Annam Brahma Yojana,"beneficiaries such as the extremely poor, destitute, homeless, orphaned children, bedridden patients in hospitals and other similar individuals are entitled to receive 10 to 15 kilograms of food grains free of cost every month for the purpose of ensuring food security. Distribution of Pulses under the Public Distribution System
"Distribution of pulses under the Public Distribution System, all NFSA ration cardholders in Gujarat are provided with both food security and nutritional security. As part of this scheme, 1 kilogram of toor dal at a subsidized rate of ₹50 per kilogram, and 1 kilograms of chana per card/family at a subsidized rate of ₹30 per kilogram is distributed monthly to all NFSA ration cardholder.
Edible Oil Distribution through Fair Price Shops
During the festivals of Janmashtami and Diwali, AAY, BPL, NFSA APL-1, and APL-2 ration cardholders of the state are provided 1 liter of edible oil per card at subsidized rates under the "Distribution of Edible Oil under Public Distribution System" Scheme.
Distribution of Salt under the Public Distribution System
Under 'Distribution of Salt under the Public Distribution System' scheme, all families covered under the National Food Security Act-2013 (AAY + PHH) and BPL families not covered under the National Food Security Act-2013 are distributed 1 kg of double fortified (Iron + Iodine) salt per family per month at a subsidized rate of Rs. 1/- per kg."
Distribution of Sugar to BPL/Antyodaya Anna Yojana Ration Card Holders Scheme
Under the scheme "Distribution of Sugar to BPL/Antyodaya Anna Yojana Ration Card Holders", the following provisions are made for BPL and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration cardholders:
AAY Ration Cardholders:
For cards with up to three members: 1 kilogram of sugar per card at a rate of ₹15 per kilogram.
For cards with more than three members: 350 grams per person at the same rate of ₹15 per kilogram.
BPL Ration Cardholders:
350 grams per person at a rate of ₹22 per kilogram.
Additionally, during two annual festivals (Janmashtami and Diwali): Antyodaya Ration Cardholders receive 1 kilogram of sugar per card at ₹15 per kilogram.
BPL Ration Cardholders receive 1 kilogram of sugar per card at ₹22 per kilogram.
SMART RATION CARD
To ensure that eligible beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System (PDS) receive their entitled quantity of commodities easily, the State Government has periodically made changes to the PDS as per contemporary requirements. As part of these efforts, the digitized ration card scheme has been introduced from the financial year 2024-25. A digitized ration card, also known as a smart ration card, is durable and can be preserved for a longer duration. This initiative will save paper and stationery. Applicants will receive their smart ration cards via speed post at home, and they will also have the option to download updated smart ration cards from the official website from any location, resulting in significant savings of time and money for beneficiaries.
The SMART (QR Code/e-sign-based) Ration Card will facilitate easier verification of ration cards and enable quick authentication of their validity.
Regarding the payment of incentive bonus on the purchase of Bajra/Jowar/Ragi (Nagali) from farmers
Government has decided to provide a bonus of ₹300 per quintal on the minimum support price (MSP) for the purchase of bajra, jowar, and ragi (nagali) from farmers.
Similarly, for the year 2024-25, to encourage the production of bajra, jowar, and ragi (nagali) and to support farmers in the face of higher prices in the open market, the State Government has decided to provide a bonus of ₹300 per quintal for the purchase of these crops at the minimum support price.
