Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department

Established on November 8, 1965, the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department was created with the primary objective of overseeing various crucial activities aimed at ensuring food security, fair distribution of essential commodities, and safeguarding consumer rights.

This department plays a pivotal role in upholding the welfare of citizens by managing key areas such as managing the distribution and supply of other essential commodities in the state for the better management of the Public Distribution System (PDS), formulating policies to ensure the supply of other essential commodities in the PDS, and exercising functions related to consumer protection, including toll map regulation.
