The State Consumer Welfare Fund has been established with a corpus fund of Rs. 20 crore (Rupees Ten Crore only) with the assistance of the Government of India (75% share of the Government of India i.e. Rs. 14 crore and 25% share of the State Government i.e. Rs.5 crore) to create and strengthen the State Consumer Welfare Fund with the assistance of the Government of India for the purpose of accelerating and facilitating consumer awareness and consumer protection activities in the State and for creating a permanent source of funds.
